E-Waste Recycling Solutions
E-waste is “special waste” with dual attributes of pollution and resources. If it is recycled properly, it can recreate value. Therefore, how to strengthen the production of electronic products and the recycling of e-waste has become an important issue.
The recycling of waste electronic and electrical products is mainly divided into three links: recycling, dismantling and refining. The upstream of the recycling industry is mainly residents and recycling institutions, and the downstream is mainly the second-hand market and the market for metal and non-metal materials.
Items recovered from e-waste, including components such as plastic, metal, and glass. According to the data from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, in 2019, the dismantling products of waste electronic and electrical products accounted for the highest proportion of stained glass, accounting for 32.5%; followed by plastic, accounting for 21.3%; and iron and its alloys, accounting for 21.3%.
In the future, we should further improve e-waste recycling and regulatory regulations, create a joint information sharing platform for the high-tech industry, recycling industry, financial industry, e-commerce and grassroots communities, and guide the flow of green finance to the recycling industry. The support for refining technology research and development will help the country obtain more precious raw materials from e-waste recycling, and ease the pressure on China’s environment and resources.
