Chinese Firm to Open New Recycling Plant in South Carolina
This is the second major recycling invest in S.C. during recent times.
Green Tech Solution, an American subsidiary of Chinese Tianjin Sheng Xin Non-Financing Guarantee Co. will open a new recycling facility in Blacksburg, S.C. The $75 million recycling facility is expected to process a wide range of materials including scrap plastics, metals and electronics amongst others. The operations are expected to commence during the second quarter of 2019. The Blacksburg recycling plant will create nearly 200 new jobs.
This is the second major recycling investment in S.C. during recent times. Earlier, Chinese Ecomelida had announced opening of a carton recycling centre in Orangeburg, which is expected to begin operations during Q4 this year.
Making the announcement, Richard Yang, CEO, Green Tech credited S.C’s business-friendly initiatives and the assistance provided by the local and state government. Meantime, Bobby Hitt, Secretary of Commerce stated that the new recycling plant is a testimony of the huge role played by foreign investment in the tremendous growth of South Carolina recycling industry.
The recycling facility will be located in an existing industrial building just off Interstate 85 on a site which previously housed a textile plant.
